My passion for photography and poetry, which has explored the profound beauty of my island, Gran Canaria, now calls me towards a new and fascinating horizon: Mexico. This is not just a personal journey, but an ambitious artistic expedition seeking to capture the multifaceted essence of one of the world’s richest cultures. My primary goal is to create a timeless and, hopefully, unforgettable visual journey through the vibrant colors and magic that envelop Mexico.

More than a simple photographic series, this is an invitation to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Mexican culture. From the imposing Teotihuacan to the energy of the Zócalo, from the charm of Coyoacán’s alleys to the explosion of color in the murals of Roma, each image will aim to be a window into a universe of contrasts and deep emotions. My intention is to capture the essence of Mexico and its people, the human soul that resides behind the grandeur of a country I’ve always admired from afar. Through my photographs, I will explore its history, its traditions, its fascinating gastronomic culture, and many other aspects that make Mexico a unique place.

Besides tackling different creative objects, distant geographical areas, and divergent stylistic subjects, I want this project to be and represent a qualitative leap in my career as an artist.

I intend to expand my photographic horizons, my perspective of the world, and the reach of my inner world towards the external reality my eyes perceive. It’s not that the island universe has become too small for me—that’s impossible. So many are the magical resources of this land where I was born, so many are the opportunities to make art and transform the reality that surrounds me day after day, and so many are the visual experiments I carry out within this unique and enchanting island environment that envelops me, that I need to expand my horizons for a time and take this island vision that birthed me to a continent, specifically to a country that has always inevitably attracted me.

Reality and the sometimes arbitrary and prodigious circumstances of life have done the rest, aligning the heart’s crevices and the pathways of my blood’s seas in such a way that it’s impossible for me not to make the Atlantic leap from my Islands—this little corner floating next to the West African coast—towards the majesty of the unique and wonderful history, the sovereign presence, the culture, the life, and the people in a country that has always attracted me, that has always claimed my rebellious spirit like a flesh magnet, the vital impulse that has made me walk the world even before I had the use of reason.

At the heart of Mexico City, beyond its exuberant and genuine architecture, I long to portray the spirit that animates this urban center through its inhabitants. I seek to capture in my images the cadence of Mexican daily life, its gestures, its silent stories, and the palpable energy flowing through its arteries.

However, Mexico extends far beyond the limits of its capital. For this reason, my itinerary will also take me to explore other territories of the country, where natural beauty manifests in all its fullness.

Keeping my love for nature intact, I venture to immerse myself in the frantic rhythm and vibrant energy of Mexican cities, seeking that subtle balance where the organic and the built engage in dialogue.

My aspiration is to create a visual testament to Mexico’s exuberant diversity. From the pulsating heart of Mexico City, a metropolis overflowing with life in every corner, to the most secluded and serene enclaves of the country, where nature displays its splendor in its purest state. In every corner, in every face, in every architectural detail, and in every landscape that reveals itself before my camera, I will seek the beauty that defines this fascinating country.
